About us
Who we are ?
Supporting Diversity, Breaking Barriers, Inspiring Possibilities
The Ethan Foundation, created in Omaha, NE and opreating in vulnerable zones like West Africa particulary in Lomé-Togo, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children with autism and women. Our comprehensive range of programs and services aims to improve the lives of both parents and children. We are committed to creating a brighter future through education, therapy, support, and empowerment. As part of our mission, we focus on raising awareness in underserved rural areas, particularly in regions where autism knowledge and resources are limited, such as Africa.
Our services include specialized therapy sessions conducted by experienced therapists, helping children acquire essential skills, enhance communication, and overall well-being. We also provide qualified teachers to offer education to children without special needs who lack access to proper schooling or resources. Our inclusive environment fosters learning and growth among all children. Additionally, we offer a mini daycare facility, providing parents with respite and an opportunity for self-care.
Moreover, we offer specialized programs for children who are unable to attend regular schools, teaching them foundational skills for their development. We also provide a dedicated course for parents, equipping them with effective strategies to manage anger outbursts and challenging behaviors. Our goal is to empower parents with the skills and knowledge needed to support their children effectively.

Foundation's History
The Ethan Foundation was established in 2023 by Valina E. in loving memory of Ethan, a vibrant young boy (2014-2022). Ethan, despite being non-verbal, possessed exceptional intelligence. In 2017, upon relocating from the United States to West Africa, Valina encountered significant challenges in finding affordable therapists for her son. While therapy sessions were financially feasible for her family, the high cost of living made them inaccessible for over 90% of local families.
Motivated by her personal experiences and the glaring need for affordable therapy services, Valina embarked on a mission to create a lasting impact in the lives of children with autism and their families. She founded The Ethan Foundation as a response to the pressing demand for accessible support in the region.
Since its inception, The Ethan Foundation has tirelessly worked to bridge the gap in autism support services by offering comprehensive programs and therapies at affordable rates. Through Valina’s vision and determination, the foundation aims to provide a lifeline of support to families who often struggle to access the resources their children need to thrive.
With a focus on empowering individuals and advocating for greater inclusivity, The Ethan Foundation has grown to become a beacon of hope in the autism community. Today, we continue to expand our reach, making a positive difference in the lives of countless children and their families, while striving to address the critical need for affordable therapy services in West Africa and beyond.
